Iranian Quranic Figures Attend Recitation Program in Memory of Martyr Soleimani
Senior Quranic figures, qaris, memorizers and veteran Quran activists from across Iran attended the Quranic program, which was organized by the country’s Supreme Council of the Holy Quran.
A number of prominent qaris, including Ahmad Abolqassemi, Ali Asghar Ebadi Moqaddam, Masoud Nouri, Mehdi Sa’adatikia, and Vahid Karami recited verses from the Holy Book at the event.
It was held at the Az-Zahra Husseiniya of Imam Khomeini Complex after Maghrib and Isha prayers.
Three video clips about the martyrdom of Hazrat Zahra (SA), the Ikhlas (purity of intention) of Martyr Soleimani, and the importance of having Basirat (insight) were also played at the program.
Lt General Qassem Soleimani, who was the commander of the IRGC Quds Force, Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Deputy Commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3, 2020.
The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassinations, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of then US president Donald Trump.
